John is a documentary filmmaker and commercial director based in Toronto. His documentary films have screened and been awarded at major festivals, winning Best Documentary at Palm Springs Documentary Film Festival, and being nominated for a Genie for best short documentary. John has directed commercials for many national brands in Canada and the US.

It was John’s experience as a travel and food photographer that led him to directing, and he continues to work for international magazine titles and advertising brands. His latest project was photographing Wildness, Phaidon’s first monograph with a Canadian chef, Jeremy Charles. It was released in June, 2019.
